We often have this image of what Bali is like. Picture jaw-dropping sunsets over the rice fields, amazing tropical fruits by the infinity pools and what seems like every luxury in your very own villa. At Udaya Resorts & Spa, these dreams became a reality and it was a pleasure to spend my last trip in Bali at this amazing Ubud resort.

Hidden in the natural oasis that is Ubud, Udaya is the definition of luxury and relaxation. They run daily yoga classes in their yoga studio, their gym facilities are fantastic, particularly to work off the amazing food they cook up. The day spa is GIANT, with a service list of massages, facials and body treatments to match. You can revel in that sense of relaxation after a treatment in their spa bath nestled amidst the trees. And yet, it had nothing on the huge pool in the middle of the resort.

I stayed in the Villa Waru that included a private pool – best enjoyed, in my opinion, with a floating breakfast in the morning. And if you’re much more inclined to relax in private, the huge flower bath was the most luxurious and fragrant bath in which I’ve ever indulged.

But despite all this luxury, the most amazing thing is the staff. You instantly feel at home amongst all this exorbitant comfort with such helpful and polite staff. With a bus service getting to you to town and back, there’s no better way to eat, pray, love your way through Bali.
