Last night I got the opportunity to go to the Closing night of the Sydney Film Festival thanks to boohoo.com and #experianceeverything. It was so much more than I expected, the Sydney Theatre is a stunning backdrop to a wonderful event. Wes and I got to watch the film What We Do In The Shadows. A mock doc of a few vampire flatmates in Wellington, NZ just trying to live their daily lives and dealing with ‘the struggle is real’ concept such as getting into nightclubs, the rotating roster of dishes (which my housemates and I also do! trust me, the struggle is real there), learning technology, not getting blood on their carpets and clothes after hitting a major artery in the neck and dealing with werewolves and zombies.
The best part was that we got a monologue and Q&A with co-directors Jemaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords and Taika Waititi. This gave us a hilarious insight into their research such a watching Blade 1 & 3 (not Blade 2 because it was being rented out). I’ve never felt such a positive mood in the air, the applause after the movie was roaring, you just don’t ever get that anymore. It was truely an event where we got to #experianceeverything.
In this look I layered this boohoo mesh crop tee over an inside out Triangl bikini with a midi skirt because midis are the new mini and the split isn’t just sexy, it’s functional! It’s actually so much easier to wear than my other tight midis. I layered the cape over my mesh crop to keep a level of decency and I love having something warm in the theatres.
Check out the movie if you get a chance!
