It’s not a secret that I’m a sucker for a little bikini and I loved this tangerine/ coral number from Beginning boutique. The tiny straps are perfect for tanning (not that my fake tan isn’t enough). Also, because it’s creeping into winter I’m not actually going into the water, instead I’m also faking that and spraying my locks with sea salt spray! Something I do daily whether the beach is involved or not to add texture to my naturally straight hair.
In contrast to my last bikini I wore which was borderline active/ yoga/ swim I’ve switched it up with a bohemian, crochet, tassel-ey number. The practicality of swimming with crochet swimwear I think is meant to be a side thought tbh so let’s just focus on how cute it is and how good it is for tanning.
On a side note of tanning, I’ve got a lot of comments in regards to my ‘tan’ and #tangoals and as someone who is an advocate on good skin and healthy living I do need to remind you all that most of my #tan is fake! Yes, I have a natural tan because I go to the beach & swim & get tanned by default but these days I don’t sleep on the beach for hours because I really want to preserve the elasticity in my skin, avoid sun spots, wrinkles, burns and skin cancer. I want to say it’s lucky that I don’t burn, and I’ve only ever burnt once in my life but I also want to add it’s not luck, it’s SPF 30+ and 50+!
So next time you have tan envy on your fave insta guys and girls and are inspired to go lie out in the sun for hours on end please have my voice on your shoulder reminding you to protect and love your skin while you’ve got your youth. Fake tans are only bad if you look orange, but if you get a good quality tanner with under tones suited to your skin type no one will knows the difference whether it’s fake or real. Your older self with thank you for it.
