Wore this super cute crochet dress this weekend during the perfect warmth of Sydney’s spring. The apron neck and backless design are 100% spot on for this season’s trends. I didn’t wear short skirts during autumn and winter but I think they’re gonna be making a big appearance in my wardrobe over the next few months… excited in an understatement. Woo!
As the sun’s slowly (very, very slowly) coming out and closer to our shores I got to head out to the beach with Vienna and take a couple snaps in my new Mink Pink kimono which comes from their amazing Japanese inspired capsule collection which is everything kawaii in the world, along with my fave ripped denim shorties from A brand. I also got a rad new pair of Ray Bans from Vision Direct which is a great little spot to grab some sunnies or specs (if you’re blind like me). Not many people know this but I wear glasses everyday or contacts every other day. I kind of hate it but it gives me a reason to wear coloured contacts without feeling like a complete fraud. right? right??
Also contemplating whether or not to get my belly button re-pierced. I lost the bar in NYC and couldn’t find a replacement in time (10 hours) and by then it had closed up. fml.
Feeling the retro Cali gurl vibes having stumbled upon this art deco house with Vienna. Just add some coloured sunnies and you’re in another world. I put this outfit together inspired from Missguided’s Carnaby Girl collection.
Having studied fashion history I have an appreciation for the 60′s mod era. I love the minis and sillhouettes of the decade. I put this Missguided Bella Paisley Baroque Mini Skirt together this with chartreuse August Street cami to join eras of 60s and 90s. Throw in an oversized bomber from the 80s, mules which were made famous by the one and only Marilyn Monroe of the 50s and I’m a walking confused mess.
There was a beautiful, sunny day I spent in San Diego at Pacific Beach with some old & new friends where I was on the hunt for a new bikini (tough life) – we rented bikes and rode up and down the boardwalk in search of bikini stores. We stopped into about 4-5 stores before I walked into ‘Sun Diego’ (what a name!) I found this little gem, a reversible bikini & I wish I could tell you the brand but I cut it out (because of the whole reversible thing).
The print is gorgeous, wolves & Ikat – the reverse looks like pomegranate haha. I love bikinis with removable straps because my tan lines are so obvious I try avoiding strappy straps & triangles #firstworldproblems. I’ve layered my Urban Outfitters Urban Renewal overall dress on top.
I’d rather be at Woodstock. I’d rather be on vacation. I’d rather be at the beach. I’d rather be on an adventure. Whinge whinge whinge. #firstworldproblems. What I’d give to be at a really high altitude, climbing through a forest, one foot in front of the other and smelling the fresh air. But no, I’m here in a small room with a fan and scrolling though tumblr, dreaming. My silver lining is that soon enough I can walk through a shopping mall and there will be shiny baubles on fake green trees with Mariah and Bubleon repeat signifying only one thing – a few days off between Christmas & New year. HALLELUJAH. In saying that I really don’t go to shopping malls anymore. Online shopping all the way. So maybe I am robbing myself of this feeling? *insert sad face*
Ok, enough about being a whinging sad sack. I put on this festival style outfit in spirits of the festival season fast approaching. I’ve teamed my blue One Teaspoon Hawks with this cute MINKPINK muscle tee & sunnies, leather fossil backpack & leather Dolce Vita booties. Rocking Earthy tones & smiles. xx
If you ever get the opportunity to hit up Bondi boardwalk I do recommend it. I guarantee you’ll find your runners, locals, euro tourists, euro local tourists (these are the ones which consider themselves locals because they’ve lived there for 6 months and hadn’t heard of any other suburb to live in), the token group of asians decked out in pants and jackets in 30 degree weather, camera in hand, standing by the shore, running away from the water & taking group selfies. Bless. And then there’s me, a girl from the burbs livin’ in the city just tryin’ a have a good time with her friends. Taking selfies in my fave new romper.
What I love about this playsuit is the drapeyness and the swingyness, so bring on the wind! I wore this MINKPINK playsuit & sunnies with my Fitz Buckle Sandals by Spurr. Keepin’ it comfy. Keepin’ it real.
If you know me you know I’m a huge adidas girl – I’m just gonna go ahead and say that it’s totally A-okay to rock a sporty style tee back with your psychedelic OTT colourful shorties, puffer spike sandals & denim jacket. Where is my inspiration from? I really don’t know.
Rocking Adidas Originals tee from Asos, shorts & sunnies from MINKPINK, denim Jacket by Talula from Aritzia, small playa watch from Nixon, sandals by Jeffrey Campbell from Nasty Gal.
I love getting you show you the pieces I create such as this Sun Summer Crop Top (Shop the dress here) & Sasha Mini Skirt. I designed this top because I love high necks at the moment, sheers & the always flattering sweetheart neckline – a three-in-one if you ask me! Lemon under yellow is also such a sweet little combo because yellow on it’s own on my skin tone is a little overbearing. I decided to pair it with the lavender coloured skirt because colour theory 101: Purple + Yellow = Perfect Combo! I designed the skirt with a white trim to add a little somethin’ somethin’ & I also think it looks a little 60s mod – which is super rad.
In this casual to night look I have paired them with my beaten up white chucks, Hello Parry holographic clutch & flower ring from Lovisa. I chose to wear the day time look & pair them with sneakers because I think I prefer wearing casual than dressy on any given day. Also it’s so much more comfortable… and I’m lazy. How would you wear it?
I designed this SUPER-CALI-SEXILICIOUS-SLAMMIN-HOLLA-DOPENESS tee because I cannot get enough of lolzy tees right now. I get that it’s not really everybody’s cup of tea, but I believe that what you wear gives anyone a first impression of who you are, what you’re about & a glimpse into your personality. So perhaps it isn’t within your corporate image or high end fashion blogger scene to be screaming these words to people with your clothes, but if you think it’s fun or funny then why not, eh?
With this look I am channelling my inner 90s with top buns & flanno love with Long Haul Plaid Shirt & Super Cali tee I designed for 1&20 Blackbirds pairing it back with Wrangler’s washed black denim cut offs, MINKPINK sunnies, urge booties & go-to MiuMiu top handle.
What a knock out show!! To be honest I wasn’t expecting too much as I was at the GP show a few nights before and didn’t think much of it. However, MarketHQ fashion show was a nice surprise.
The show was great – they started with suffocating the whole room with graffiti live art spray painting the backdrop of ‘MarketHQ’ on clear perspex. After this, they they opened the show with 5 of Australia’s top bloggers, Steph Kramer from Watermelon Crush, Rochelle Fox, Morgan Joanel, Chloe Ting and Emma from Spin Dizzy Fall. What an inspiration! I guess this whole blogger-catwalk thing started with Gary Pepper – so thanks, girl!
MarketHQ’s trends were strong, wearable, understandable and easy to digest as well as having their take on styling that some other retailers probably couldn’t pull off.
In the middle they had this little dance routine to Rob Thick’s Blurred Lines – I added the video I look with my iphone, let me know what you think – I loved it – Just what GP didn’t have… backflips.
Sorry about the dodgey pics but I just used my iphone. (All the good ones aren’t mine)
I was wearing Mini Palms Flare Dress I designed for 1&20 Blackbirds, Zara leather jacket & sunnies, Wittner leather booties and Atmos&here duffle bag.
