Sometimes you’ve just gotta run around chasing sunflowers and feeling cute in check pants and a pink jacket. If you haven’t noticed yet… checkered pants are all the rage! I went for a monotone kind of look with the blushes, whites and beige so the outfit wasn’t too ‘loud’ with anything too contrasty ie. if you were to wear a black boot and black jacket. If you want to look cute, yet subtle, but mainly cute try an outfit of all similar tones like this one. Makes wearing light coloured and printed pants more wearable.
Oh and these sunnies are from Sloane and I have a cheeky 40% discount for you the code is JESSIE40 – I’m loving their new slim line style.
Keeping it neutral with a grey silk cashmere tee from Grana, it’s lightweight and oversized so not too hot but would be perfect for winter as well. I’m wearing a size XS but if you prefer to wear things looser through the arms I’d get a size or two up, I don’t see the body size changing too much. It’s perfect for the lazy tuck, full tuck or fully untucked – this is the beauty of drapery fabrics.
I’ve paired it with a pair of high waisted pinstripe loose leg shorts because it’s been so hot lately and this style of short is perfect for the season & not overheating! as well as these gorgeous leather gladiator sandals which are soo comfy.
I hope you’ve achieved lots in the first half of the first month of the new year… I know I have!
Everybody’s got their LBDs, plural, because you should have more than one, but do you have a LWB?? Yes, little white dress… the perfect ensemble for summer. I can’t tell you have many comments I’ve gotten each time I’ve worn this dress which has only been twice. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s the fit, the flattering shape, or the fact that wearing white makes you look way more tanned. And when you look tanned you look slimmer.
I’ve opted to pair the dress with light, neutral accessories such as these tan booties, light pink YSL bag and sunnies because black accessories or shoes can sometimes overpower a white dress or cut off your body when you’re trying to look longer and taller. The same tones in an outfit will give the impression that you’re taller than what you are! And I need that lol.
If you know me well you’d know I have a weird obsession with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ever since I watched Terminator & Terminator 2 when I was super little (yes, my parents didn’t really let age ratings get in the way of cinematic education) I was hooked. Shortly after that it was True Lies, then one of his more finer movies, Kindergarten Cop. What can’t this man do!?
In addition, as I studied my fashion design education it was inevitable I’d take a fondness to Karl Largerfeld, the creative director of Chanel and Fendi as well as his own label. This is a man that’s not only creative but a branding extraordinaire. Someone to really aspire to be like as fashion designer.
So not only am I freaking out over this tee because of my two worlds colliding it was my favourite look at Fashion Week because of it. Thank you Stylestalker hehe.
And she’s back at it again with the over the knee boots!! I love that these boots have the gorgeous lace up detailing on the back, matched back with the colour it looks bohemian and chic. However, me being me I’m not hugely bohemian and the best I could incorporate the boho vibes is this frayed chambray hem shirt from A brand hanging down the back mixed with slouchy knitwear from MLM. A perfect look for Fashion Week when you don’t want to look too serious and don’t want to blend in with all the black & flares
A white shirt, black jeans and black boots are really a staple in anyone’s wardrobe, yeah? But I’ve amped it up in this look with this amazing August Street white shirt, it has two layers so you can wear the inside layer tucked in or out while there’s length in the back to keep it smart but casual. I’ve also lifted the boots game with these freakishly comfortable OTK boots from Siren. I wore them to dinner two nights in a row just to test them out, and I live in the city so if I’m going out I have to walk and I was walking a minimum of 15 minutes each way and I swear they’re the comfiest boots I’ve ever stomped in. The leather might need a couple wears to soften up but I think it’s worth it.
