Sometimes getting out of town to explore new inspiration is the right thing to do. Believe it or not but this is Wes and I’s first swim shoot this summer! I think it’s partly because we were both away over Christmas and New Year’s and the fact that I personally haven’t been super motivated to shoot swim because I haven’t been my fittest.
Buuuuttt sometime’s it’s good to force yourself to do what you love and just cover up the pizza belly with a one piece hahah. I’m actually super obsessed with this gorgeous one-piece from Kopper and Zink. The detail is gorgeous and the cut and colour is perfect. It’s not too cheeky as it doesn’t come up too high on the sides and not too conservative, I think it’s a perfect in between if that’s what you’re looking for.
I love roses, I love mom jeans and I love embroidered denim… so these jeans scream ‘me’ right now haha. I put these epic mom jeans together with my 90′s inspired double crop top duo, a crushed velvet cami over a white fitted tee. Layered over that is a velvet necklace with crystal from Samantha Wills. To keep it summer and basic I had chucked on my favourite slides of the season and signature round sunnies. There’s no better way than getting good use out of basics by layering them and putting them with denim.
This colour palette turns heads. Fact. There’s something about white jeans and an off the shoulder top that’s the epitome of sexy casual. My favourite part of this look is the rose gold accents and pearls which really pair back well with the matte satin shine in the top. Layer a tan or ivory coat for winter and you’re good for the night!
I love mixing pastels into the winter mix, if you’re not overly sold on baby pink or lavender than blue/ grey is a fantastic alternative. The colour of these blue grey boots are perfect for the knit and coat. I just added the softness of the pink shorts instead of using black or denim and then added the white collar to prep up the look. I didn’t want the shorts to look too out of place so I wore these cute, rose tinted sunnies… a wardrobe staple is you ask me.
I bought this basic grey marle tee from Urban Outfitters years ago – it has a super deep V neck to show off you bralettes, back when strappy bralettes were a huge thing. Now off the shoulder tops are what everybody’s after so I just engineered it as so.
Although this was one of my looks for Fashion Week I never like to be super dressy hence why I paired the boots, skirt and neckpiece with a basic tee which I knotted up at the front to add the casual element.
A white shirt, black jeans and black boots are really a staple in anyone’s wardrobe, yeah? But I’ve amped it up in this look with this amazing August Street white shirt, it has two layers so you can wear the inside layer tucked in or out while there’s length in the back to keep it smart but casual. I’ve also lifted the boots game with these freakishly comfortable OTK boots from Siren. I wore them to dinner two nights in a row just to test them out, and I live in the city so if I’m going out I have to walk and I was walking a minimum of 15 minutes each way and I swear they’re the comfiest boots I’ve ever stomped in. The leather might need a couple wears to soften up but I think it’s worth it.
I’m in that internal battle of all these cute Autumn clothes coming out like long sleeve tops and boots but I’m still holding onto summer clothes, like these denim cut offs. I can’t let go of summer! Is it obvious? That being said – it is about 30 degrees everyday and the thought of putting on jeans is physically painful because of the humidity, imagine pulling denim over sweaty legs – real life issues here, my friends. Why even are winter clothes even in stores? Can everyone please just stop and wait for the cold weather to catch up please? LOL
I’ve mentioned before how investing in separates is crucial to every girl’s wardrobe. You can pull your fave little black skirt and match it with a new little black (or white) top and have a whole new outfit from the day before. Money saving tricks haha.
I love the low back detail of this top, it’s elegant, young and simple at the same time. I’ve also really been getting into nude and tan sandals and heels. Perhaps it’s my tan from the Parlour room but the colourmatch with the tan heels elongates the leg and puts focus on the simplicity of the look.
The best days are easily the days where you’re in the sun, being productive and in good company, so spending the day with these gorgeous girls shooting for one of our favourite brands was definitely a day well spent. I’m loving the lattice detail on this swimsuit which I wore as a bodysuit with high waisted jeans. In hindsight, I should have worn black denim shorts because it was freaky hot with a light linen shirt. But I still love this look!
This look is a dress is disguise – a top and shorts to be precise… oh the magic of separates. I have worn this top with so much else, denim shorts, pants, skirts and the outfit looks completely different every time. The waist tie doesn’t even have to always go around the front. So invest in your separates to stretch out your wardrobe, ladies!
