I’m in love with the drapey blush-ness of this dress. The side splits and balloon sleeves give the simple tunic style that added detail. I have layered it over a light pink leather look mini skirt so the wind doesn’t blow it between your legs since the fabric is so soft (you know what I mean, right?) as well as giving it that contrast, and hey, I’ll take any warmth I can get… it’s winter after all.
I’m loving all the accessories from the long line necklace to the laser cut out clutch, strappy heels and gemstone chain bracelet. And my hair has had a nice little re-vamp from Barney Martin hair team! It’s creamier and blonder and softer and stronger. I’d definitely recommend their services if you’re on the hunt for a new hairdresser
It’s not a secret that I’m a sucker for a little bikini and I loved this tangerine/ coral number from Beginning boutique. The tiny straps are perfect for tanning (not that my fake tan isn’t enough). Also, because it’s creeping into winter I’m not actually going into the water, instead I’m also faking that and spraying my locks with sea salt spray! Something I do daily whether the beach is involved or not to add texture to my naturally straight hair.
Shot this impromptu look on the weekend at sundown wearing this gorgeous lace romper from Ministry Of Style. You know you’re blessed when you can chill out in a summer look in Winter… Although admittedly I was frozen when the sun actually set.
Had such a great weekend catching up with new & old friends, blogger babes, new cats, old cats and family. Such activities requiring a very casual look such as my denim anorak, black skinny jeans, and leather boots. There’s not much to it but sometimes less is more & I’ve mentioned on a few occasions now that black jeans and black boots are my default, my safety net if you will.
Going into winter one thing that sucks is putting together a look you love but then putting a huge, double breasted coat over it and covering the whole look. One thing you can do is work backwards – chose a coat you love and then incorporate what will work with that. Or else, in this case wear a slightly more open coat at the front to show what you’re wearing underneath. This cape will keep you warm and you can still wear sleeves or a knit underneath and it looks awesome.
Autumn, I’m definitely ready for you. I love Summer and Winter, but there’s something about Autumn and Spring that’s so much more live-able. I can’t wait to actually get out and go on adventures again, to go out and see new things, hike and explore new places of this city, of this state, on the weekends because Summer and Winter just does not allow for such fun without the pain of (relatively) high or low temperatures. Autumn is just perfect.
In this romantic summer night’s look I am wearing May the Label maxi dress with a shorter front for that hello boys effect. I love the effortless, gorgeous layering of this dress and I’ve gone barefoot for the beach with a scarf necklace to add to the layering and a ka-pow colour.
Ok, some outfits are a little more experimental than others I’ll admit. I designed these lace flares because I felt maybe they’d come in handy or look fun for a boho look, but then I went completely left of center and paired it with a black bustier, fedora and black leather booties? Even looking back I’m confused but I still think it’s fun. What even is the point in life if you feel compelled to stick to the social norms of dressing, or wearing what every other blogger or person is wearing.
Today and everyday until it’s Christmas day I’m going to be freaking out about Christmas. I love Christmas but I am not a gifty person whatsoever, I blame my parents. My mum’s the type that would buy herself a present way before Christmas and just ask for money. I don’t let my dad buy me presents without me specifically tell him what it is to be, and even then it always comes in the form of cash, joint with my mum. Not to say that my family isn’t above board in the love each other department, I’m just saying, I was never conditioned to love giving or getting presents. This can also do with the fact that I hate surprises. I can’t act, I hate pretending that I love the present that I don’t like. And if you’re buying me a present you’re close enough to me for me to say I don’t actually like or need it. So it’s awkward for everyone.
I’d rather spend my days out of the shopping centres or not shopping online and in the sun like I am here in my Keepsake shorts & Kim Kardashian knit tank, (in one of my previous posts I might have gone OTT for my love of KK and this is the closest I can get to the megababe) I like the knit tank because I love texture in outfits mixed with prints.
This blog is a continuous challenge for me, not only in the photography content but more-so the copy – I never have alot of words to say in my day to day activities. I sit behind a desk, only have a couple people I ever have to interact with at the office, I go to the gym with headphones in, then go home & sit alone in my room and work until I fall asleep. A natural introvert if you ever saw one. This bound with my distaste of small talk what do I talk about here? Weather? snoozefest. Still figuring that one out… what do you talk about in your blog? There’s only so much you can say about an outfit that you can’t already see. This super cute backless, colourful, mini dress is a fun one to be caught in the wind with.
