When your friends have weddings in beautiful places and you use their venue as a backdrop for your outfit and it just so happens that your photographer is also a guest.
I designed this dress because I am in love with cut out details on bustlines, bustier detailing and going into my mid-20s I am bringing down hemlines to ‘dress my age’. At least for events and work. Anyone else in the same boat and see their style changing as their age matures? Amirite??
One of the best parts of hiring a car while travelling is getting to stop at natural wooden playgrounds like this. I thought I’d wear an outfit that really blends into the surroundings (like camo) with sharks and floral and what not. Totally joking but I love mixing prints. Keepin’ it freshhh, keepin’ it real.
I’ve been a little bit slack on social as I’ve been in New Zealand! These shots were taken when Klara and I went for a drive down the coast. So far so good, so follow more of my travels on instagram if you’re not already.
So I was suppose to go out and shoot this morning but it’s raining like a mofo so I thought I’d take the time to share with you this weekend edit Wes and I shot last weekend… in the wind… and the rain… (don’t mind the hair flick… there was so much wind) So we literally only captured these few pics but I actually love how the colours turned out.
I had to put a grunge element of the black tee, and leather jacket back with the floral pants because I don’t think that these types of pants are very ‘sexy’ on me. So even when I tried to make them ‘sexy’ in heels I just LOLed at myself in the mirror like ‘who are you kidding’, please put the chucks on and stop pretending to be hot. Moral of the story. Don’t try to wear anything just because you’ve seen other people wear them a certain way. Instead, be comfortable and be you because confidence comes from self-esteem and people can see confidence over a ‘good outfit’ that isn’t ‘you’ any day.
My everyday staples this winter have been jeans, a collared shirt & a crop (eg. here and here) I picked up myself up some basic not basics from August Street to add to my collection. I love this new white collared shirt with tail and front panel detailing. I’ve layered it under a crop as per usual because I’m obsessed with creating unusual proportions. I wore this blazer to add some dimension and even more layers with it’s peplum hem detail. Oh, and yes that’s a Prada of which I borrowed from Camille, what a baller, oh and the shoes too!
You know those weeks that go so fast and so slow and are just so exhausting you blink your eyes and you’re at the end writing a blog post about how manic it was.. that just happened, and here I am.
Last Wednesday I was told to get on a plane on Sunday to go to Guangzhou, China for 4 days for business to collect some fabric samples. China was gnarly, hot, impatient, rude, amazing, dumpling-filled and a very interesting experience. If I manage to get the Vlog up you can see more of that later.
I got back Thursday morning, headed straight to work from the airport and figured I couldn’t make it through the day so went home and slept all day instead. Nek minit headed straight to Hillsong Conference – a yearly conference my church hosts. A truly incredible experience I’d recommend if you ever get the opportunity. It’s next to impossible to leave the conference unchanged if you’re openminded and openhearted. God is doing incredible things and it all starts with us. I wish I got some snaps of it but I was so overwhelmed by it all I completely forgot. Soz. #badblogger
Jocelyn and I shot this quick look before I went away. Just a casual outfit for lazy weekend days, black high rise boyfriend jeans are seemingly more and more of a necessity. I’d recommend investing. Just personal opinion though
Another week, another beach, another slice of paradise. I don’t know if this bikini & romper actually is the same print, but I’m just gonna go ahead & say it’s close enough. I’m not a very matchy-matchy person but sometimes it’s fun. I know I’ve given you alot of beach scenes lately… But hey, it’s where I’ve been. Don’t hate
I love this print that’s halfway between tribal and fijian floral, samezies with this MINKPINK bikini, stripey tribal with orange floral hints. Sooooper cute.
If you ever get the opportunity to hit up Bondi boardwalk I do recommend it. I guarantee you’ll find your runners, locals, euro tourists, euro local tourists (these are the ones which consider themselves locals because they’ve lived there for 6 months and hadn’t heard of any other suburb to live in), the token group of asians decked out in pants and jackets in 30 degree weather, camera in hand, standing by the shore, running away from the water & taking group selfies. Bless. And then there’s me, a girl from the burbs livin’ in the city just tryin’ a have a good time with her friends. Taking selfies in my fave new romper.
What I love about this playsuit is the drapeyness and the swingyness, so bring on the wind! I wore this MINKPINK playsuit & sunnies with my Fitz Buckle Sandals by Spurr. Keepin’ it comfy. Keepin’ it real.
Props to my nephew who got this trampoline for Christmas – endless fun for the whole family haha (ok, it ends when you get out of breath & your legs hurt). They don’t make trampolines like the old days where you get your leg stuck in the springs and you do an Aragorn and tumble over the edge with your leg still stuck in between the spring and your skin jammed between the metal…good times…Almost as good as this outfit. I think this easy outfit is the epitome of spring – chunky pink & white stripe knit, fun, bright pastel printed denim shorts & floral printed creeper sneakers (sorry, Isaiah for jumping with shoes on!)
Top from Forever21, shorts & sunnies from MINKPINK & creepers from Urban Outfitters
I love getting you show you the pieces I create such as this Sun Summer Crop Top (Shop the dress here) & Sasha Mini Skirt. I designed this top because I love high necks at the moment, sheers & the always flattering sweetheart neckline – a three-in-one if you ask me! Lemon under yellow is also such a sweet little combo because yellow on it’s own on my skin tone is a little overbearing. I decided to pair it with the lavender coloured skirt because colour theory 101: Purple + Yellow = Perfect Combo! I designed the skirt with a white trim to add a little somethin’ somethin’ & I also think it looks a little 60s mod – which is super rad.
In this casual to night look I have paired them with my beaten up white chucks, Hello Parry holographic clutch & flower ring from Lovisa. I chose to wear the day time look & pair them with sneakers because I think I prefer wearing casual than dressy on any given day. Also it’s so much more comfortable… and I’m lazy. How would you wear it?
