I did a little 3 day staycation at the gorgeous boutique Primus Hotel right in the heart of the city… and it was gorgeous! Greeted with valet parking and a luxury suite which feels like the size of a small apartment, it was warm, inviting and definitely living in luxury.
These outfit photos were taken on the sun soaked rooftop which I can’t wait to come back and visit in summer because they’ll have a fully decked out bar and an amazing pool to laze about in.
Waking up to a breakfast buffet was definitely a treat as well as coming back at 5pm for a cheeky cocktail and charcuterie board in their open, spacious ground level bar. This is definitely a gorgeous place to stay if you’re looking at being right in the heart of the city!
One of the funnest outfits I’ve ever worn to fashion week! A bright yellow faux fur coat and my favourite part is that I got to wear jeans so I was totally in my element and they had stars on them! so that theme dragged on from the previous day where I wore stars on my blazer and blouse (it was unintentional but a happy accident nonetheless).
When the team at Colette by Colette Hayman told me they had a fun, new activation for bags that you can change daily without having to buy a whole new bag I knew I had to get involved. I love the idea of changing up the look of your bag with details as small as adding a pom pom, tassel or changing the strap! They have so many different colour options for all of the straps, tassels and pom poms you’ll actually freak out. You can see the whole range here.
Today I styled my classic black Colette Hayman bag with a natural beige pom pom and leopard print guitar strap to go back with my knitted shorts, tan shirt and star flatforms. Keep an eye out for my next few posts where I’ll change up this bag for a totally new look.
I wanted to shoot a bikini a little differently so I did as I always do on a hot, sunny day and blow up a floatie! I got this super cute watermelon blow up from Clark Rubber and if you wanted you can get a whole fruit salad including limes and strawberries. The next one I’m going to invest in is the big blow up boat – they’re so fun out on the bay with a bunch of friends and an esky! Seriously my favourite thing to do on New Years Eve.
The best thing about this as a Christmas gift is that it’s perfect for all summer long, I could imagine me on Christmas day after lunch, blowing it up in the backyard and using it as an air mattress as some younger sibling family member just stands there spraying a hose into the air and letting the cold water fall onto you…. the bliss… That or you’re lucky enough to have a pool for it’s intended use (which my family don’t!).
Going into December I’m going to be rolling out some fun videos for you including Christmas gift ideas and even fun things to spoil yourself with (haha because let’s be honest we all kind of do!) Like this cute bag I picked up in Bali, surprisingly it fits alot and I’ve gotten so many comments on it while away and on my instagram so I wanted to share with you all where to pick one up for summer as it’s perfect for the beach!
Just checking in! hope you’re all well and loving life. Thought I’d share these unpublished photos Wes and I took while we were on the Central coast. I love this little series because the beach was almost completely empty and I was actually struggling with catching any light (it was about 6pm) and the wind was gale force. But despite this we still managed to do what we love and do best which is capture photos and enjoy the beach.
Hope you’re all having the best weekend and are ready to wrap up the year!!
Last weekend I got the pleasure of jumping on board the Corroboree, a super yacht on Sydney’s Harbour to celebrate Toyota’s Feeling The Street Campaign. This campaign involves thousands of entrants all over the world who are performing on street corners and alleyways with a huge passion for music. I got the pleasure of meeting the winners of the competition and their joy for performing and making music was infectious.
What I love most is that the musicians were so global, they have come from India, Brazil, Italy, Chile and Colombia to create this band which worked so well together. Check out the youtube video and keep an eye out for the music video that was also filmed on the yacht! (Maybe you’ll be able to spot me!)
My blog is ‘Fashion and Sounds’ for a reason, I’ve always loved discovering new, young musical talent and with so many cultures included in this band I’m so honoured to be a part of the first steps of their journey and good luck to the team and thank you to Toyota for allowing me to be a part of this.
I’ve worn camis layered over tees to death and I’m far from done. I love this look because the tee underneath is a long sleeve, mesh high neck tee. I love the idea of a mesh tees as they are so versatile, you can layer cute shaped bralettes underneath or layer more mesh shirts or tops over it, as well as opaque camis and tanks.
The next time I wear this top I think I’ll wear a black bodysuit under it and tuck it into a pair of high waisted, baggy shorts and belt it.
I literally only have four hair styles: down, half up top knot, pony tail (strictly reserved for the gym) and this two top knot situation. It’s a bit out there sometimes but it really makes a statement which I like.
If you’re headed to the beach there are so many options on what you can wear, a dress, shorts, tee, singlet… but my fave at the moment has gotta be a linen/ cotton shirt and denim. I’m wearing the shirt because once you’re done for the day you can just throw it over, you don’t necessarily have to button it up, you can just wear it as a cover up and walk back to your car/ house/ villa wherever you are going without having to mess up too much of your clothes with your wet swimsuit. Another winner for the shirt is that I often lie on the beach with a something over my face, and it always end up being my clothing… and a shirt is great for that because it’s light, is breathable and has a lot of fabric.
This has also got to be my new favourite go to watch. It has a silver mesh band is doesn’t work on holes but just a clippy mechanism which I find alot easier (since I’m so uncoordinated!) And as much as I love golds and rose golds… all of my favourite ‘everyday’ rings are silver so this watch just makes so much sense! Why didn’t I get this before??
You can buy this watch anything off The Peach Box and enjoy 15% off with the code “jessie15″
I’m just gonna put it out there… I’m a bit bikini obsessed. I love a good quality bikini and that includes the perfect little black one piece bikini that should be staple in everyone’s beach wardrobe. I’m going to talk you through your options and what’s best for your bust shape.
Smaller chest: Your traditionally trained stylist with tell you to go for something with ruffles or bows or something that has embellishment on the chest to accentuate your bust. To me that’s fine, but personally I am a much more minimal bikini wearer and I don’t ever wear bows or frills on anything. I would embrace not having a ridiculous amount of cleavage and opt for a super low cut bikini like this one which has padding in it. The beauty of not having out there cleavage means you can get away with this style without looking slutty. Another alternative is a style with a alot of panel detailing on the bust. Super fashion forward.
Bigger Chest: I’d say I fall into this category (being a DD) and although I love the high neck style it actually doesn’t make your chest look smaller or flatter your bust, but in fact tends to make it look bigger with more of a monoboob vibe. Unless that’s the look you’re going for then I’d suggest a low cut style, but not too low cut (because from experience your boobs fall right out!). I love backless styles and if you don’t feel like you need the ‘support’ then give this style a go but there are also plenty of one-piece styles that have the in-built bra with a much more conservative back.
Somewhere in between: You’re the babes that can get away with any of the above. Try a balconette style or one of these sexy front zip bikinis which you can adjust to whatever mood you’re in <insert winky face>
