A huge trend that’s been on the cards is mesh, but this dress from Showpo has really amped up the anti with this almost chainmail style maxi dress with high slits. Okay, maybe it’s technically a top but it’s so dope either way.
I put it over this gorgeous bralette also from Showpo and my fave little black booties of the season from Sol Sana.
This is just a little BTS teaser trailer for a shoot I did with Contiki a couple weeks ago in Caye Caulker, Belize. On this day I wore my Grana cropped tee, we hired bikes, rode around the island, swam at the beach and ended the day on a sail around the island drinking rum punch and dancing the end of our holiday into the sunset. A pretty picturesque and perfect day if you ask me for island life!
One sunny day this week snuck in between the rainy ones and we got a gloriously hot & beautiful day. On this day I layered my favourite silk shirt from Grana over my new bustier from Naran as well as gorgeous grey leather mini skirt from Kookai. I love mixing plains with details such as lace and this gorgeous metal detailing on my new metal bag from St Xavier, it’s more subtle than clashing prints but still makes a statement.
When the team at Colette by Colette Hayman told me they had a fun, new activation for bags that you can change daily without having to buy a whole new bag I knew I had to get involved. I love the idea of changing up the look of your bag with details as small as adding a pom pom, tassel or changing the strap! They have so many different colour options for all of the straps, tassels and pom poms you’ll actually freak out. You can see the whole range here.
Today I styled my classic black Colette Hayman bag with a natural beige pom pom and leopard print guitar strap to go back with my knitted shorts, tan shirt and star flatforms. Keep an eye out for my next few posts where I’ll change up this bag for a totally new look.
I’m having a moment with these wide leg cropped pants from Kookai, they fit perfectly and make any outfit 10/10. I’ve paired it with a basic cami, also from Kookai as well as my Prada bag which I’ve gotten so many comments on. I’d been looking for this bag for half a year before I enlisted my amazing photographer to search for me while he was in Asia (land of the designer hang bag) and yep… he got the ONLY one they had in the store which wasn’t even on display. Lucky Me! Well, I’ve now found it online and hopefully you can still get this bad boy for yourself, in other colours too!
It’s the perfect size for me, fits my iphone 6s plus, keys, cards, cash and lipstick. So if you’re a bit of a Mary Poppins with bags this isn’t the one for you but if you like things minimal inside your purse – look no further.
I admit most people don’t have as many bikinis as I do, but if you’re going to invest in one, it has to be a little black bikini. I love a good, supportive fit, made from good fabric like this one from All Sisters and below I’ve put together a slideshow of some others I also recommend.
The perfect little statement bag is here. Sending good vibes through quilted gold and chains! I’m obsessed with this little love heart cross over bag from Colette by Colette Hayman, it adds personality and glamour to any look whether it’s casual or cocktail. If the love heart shape isn’t for you I recommend this metal gold quilted clutch for a more classic look.
I’ve teamed it with a thigh high split lace skirt and oversized tee for a laid back, going out look with strappy khaki heels from Billini.
One of the latest trends we’ve been seeing off the runway is the corset belt, most notably at Prada where we saw lace up midriff corsets layered over coats and shirts giving fresh life to innerwear as outerwear. I love the lingerie inspired corset belt being utilised in a layered, cool girl capacity rather than looking suggestive.
Here I’ve styled it over an oversized mesh tee and thrown over an oversized open shirt to give the trend an androgynous, sporty, lazy look with the black and white sports inspired stiletto boots. I posted an instagram wearing it over a jumpsuit and under a pink duster to show how else it can be styled. Other ways would be right over the oversized button up shirt with thigh high boots. Get creative and you’ll look like the ultimate cool girl at your next soiree.
Dusty Rose is easily one of my favourite colours this season, it’s not a baby pink, not a mauve but a very specific tone of pink which will transition from summer into autumn perfectly. Also, if you haven’t found yourself jumping onto the velvet band wagon yet please let this dusty pink cami be your segway. Glassons also carry this gorgeous pink crushed velvet slip dress which I styled on my insta here. I saw the cami and dress and although almost the same I needed both haha don’t judge. But with such affordable prices why not!? My favourite part about collecting so much dusty pink over the season is that I can style it all together. I love the duster with the cami and bag – don’t be afraid to double or triple up your colour scheme because it really stands out.
I love roses, I love mom jeans and I love embroidered denim… so these jeans scream ‘me’ right now haha. I put these epic mom jeans together with my 90′s inspired double crop top duo, a crushed velvet cami over a white fitted tee. Layered over that is a velvet necklace with crystal from Samantha Wills. To keep it summer and basic I had chucked on my favourite slides of the season and signature round sunnies. There’s no better way than getting good use out of basics by layering them and putting them with denim.
