Hi Guys, just thought I’d update you on what’s going on in my life: this week is particualry stressful. On the weekend I was too excited to gram and walked into the ocean without looking where I was going and walked onto a rock covered in oysters so I really did a number on my foot and am now hobbling my life away like a 87 y/o grandma. I’m dumb, lesson learnt.
This was a great week for that to happen as I’m moving out of my apartment that I’ve been in for over four years right before I’m going to Bali for two weeks. So needless to say I’m going to be on my feet for the next 3 weeks! Yay for me. Yay for not healing.
The next few days will be full of packing, packing, shooting, packing and moving and unpacking and packing and then flying. I’m usually quite into going to the gym right before I have a tropical getaway however I don’t think I’ll be able to be on my feet for much more of the day so I don’t know how that’s going to pan out…
Despite all of this I’ve realised I have so many amazing friends in my life who have volunteered to help a little ‘ol me pack up, move, drive and just be there for moral as well as physical support. Makes me so happy
So here’s to you guys! *raises non-alcholic glass of something because I’m not drinking right now since I can’t go to the gym and work out*
One of my easiest, most relaxed looks to date; jeans and a cami with flats. If you swap out your jersey tee with a woven cami it can easily and instantly transform a very, very casual outfit to something still casual but a bit more sexy and can take you into the night… add heels if you want even more attention!
This look is a dress is disguise – a top and shorts to be precise… oh the magic of separates. I have worn this top with so much else, denim shorts, pants, skirts and the outfit looks completely different every time. The waist tie doesn’t even have to always go around the front. So invest in your separates to stretch out your wardrobe, ladies!
Denims for me are undeniably a key piece for all seasons, only the length and weight are the variables. As it’s trans (Autumn/ Fall) here in Sydney at the moment I’ve chosen this lightweight white denim from Atmos&Here to go with my crop top and draped coat. I’ve grown a custom to high rise jeans because it always gives you that longer leg look and you’ve heard it 100x that it’s all about layering when it comes to trans because you never know when it’s gonna get freakishly cold (for Sydney standards that’s anything below 20degrees lol).
Everybody’s been using the ‘Sports Luxe” term pretty loosely, but it’s honestly so easy incorporating your performance wear in with your everyday wear. I put this Nike sweater back with my old house mate’s hand me down stripe shirt and leather shorts and boots for a kinda-casual look.
Don’t ever be limited to your ‘active’ wear as a gym only piece – where’s the value in that? Today’s exciting because coincidentally I am doing a training session with Nike! Beyond excited!! So stay tuned on instagram for updates.
I’ve never worn a pair of pants that got so many questions.
“Is that a skirt?”
“Are they long shorts?”
“Why am I so confused..?”
People! They’re just palazzos with a split in the front.. duh… I wore my new fave stripe maxi shorts with this Backstage crop bustier to detract it from looking pajama-ry in any way. Oh and heels help. Heels ALWAY help. Especially when I get teased for being tiny. Yes, I’m 5″3. And yes, I always walk on boardwalks in stilettos because there’s no chance of your heel getting caught between the cracks.
An easy way to wear a crop without showing your midriff is by layering, even a tee or longer tank can be layered underneath because there are definitely days I’m not feeling particularly keen to out the belly out. Amirite?
I’m also wearing my Daniel Wellington watch, as mentioned before, the guys at DW were so generous they’ve given all of you a 15% discount code* if you wish you pick up your own watch (or a Christmas gift for someone special??) just punch in ‘fashionandsounds’ in the checkout. I actually really love the simplicity of their styles & quality of the leather.
When your friends have weddings in beautiful places and you use their venue as a backdrop for your outfit and it just so happens that your photographer is also a guest.
I designed this dress because I am in love with cut out details on bustlines, bustier detailing and going into my mid-20s I am bringing down hemlines to ‘dress my age’. At least for events and work. Anyone else in the same boat and see their style changing as their age matures? Amirite??
With bonded lycra imported from Italy that pulls & pushes your body in and up in the right places and the cutest peplum skirt to give you that Kim K shape (whether you have it or not) and that sweetheart neck to frame your décolletage, this bikini from Zigilane is gorgeous.
In an attempt to stretch out of my comfort zone of shooting in the shade Jock and I walked over to the bright side of the rocks and experimented with that big ‘ol star in the sky, the sun. Once again, not trying to be a model just exploring more avenues to spruce up fashionandsounds.
I was getting seriously swept off my feet while shooting these hence the OTT happiness & LOLs. I do love a good windy shot though. I’m sporting a 2 piece set from Mink Pink to add to that double happiness value, paired back with classic black booties, blazer and hat to tone down the cheesiness. Ok, I’m so lame, and I’m so tired from being in the sun all day. Until next time!
