Allllright, check it out I’m back with another white on white outfit because I tanned up with J bronze (Jennifer Hawkin’s tanning range) and nothing brings out a tan better than white. I like the formula of this product because you can see it as it goes on and it’s kind of shimmery – you can control it pretty well overall. It’s not very dark because I put it on at my whitest of white in Winter (still tan on most people’s scales) and only one application. I used to be SO against fake tans as they have that negative connotation of ‘orange’ but this range is great as it’s more of a bronzy base. The main reason why I’ve changed my mind is because of the Aussie sun (well, any sun, it’s all the same sun) is very very harsh and sooo bad for your skin not only short term but especially long term. You can see it evidently with some parents who have spent their whole lives on the beach vs the ones who spent their lives under an umbrella. I’m not gonna lie and say I will not lie on the beach sometimes but I will definitely try to protect my skin in every way possible over summer. Pass us the SPF 50! And I urge you to do the same (please). So slip, slop, slap on some fake tan because skin cancer is serious and for the most part avoidable.
OK, didn’t mean to rant on so much but I really really can’t stand people who are uneducated about the dangers of the sun. It hurts me.
I wore this gorgeous Cameo set, similarly to this look, because the fabric is gorgeous and drapes so perfectly. I’d put it together again with the stunning Samantha Wills jewels for a dressed up look.
I’m not gonna lie, it’s hard work pretending you have a great life on the internet. I juggle a full time job, a part time blog, training at the gym everyday, shooting on the weekends & dealing with the rain when it rains and you’re trying to shoot. #firstworldproblems
As mentioned in my previous post I am going to start reviewing not only outfits but beauty. I got these great Toni & Guy hair products including this texturiser and dry shampoo. Since I only wash my hair once a week I live off dry shampoo. LIVE. And this T&G one is pretty good! then add the texturising spray to your GHD curls and you’ve got volume and sexy bed hair. This is the look after my hair got rained on, it was better before, I promise haha.
What I like about this outfit from Cameo is the silk dupion type fabric, which gives the slubs in the yarn of the weave. As a designer I geek out over beautiful fabrics, the textures in the weft and warp of the weave and whether they drape or hold structure. There’s a weightiness to the garment as well as a floaty fall. Stunning pieces to match back with gorgeous bohemian inspired jewels from Samantha Wills.
Fashion blogging is interesting… you’re either one of those who are ahead of the trends, setting trends, on trend or completely left of centre. Being a creative is interesting also, you’re either on a whole ‘nother level of human mindset like Kanye who just wants to create things like leather jogging pants and music videos of ‘white trash’ starring himself, horses and a topless Kim or you’re the CEO of Nasty Gal which isa $250m company, an owner who never went to college but just knows her audience and tailors their product for them for the cash muni $$ after having a genuine passion for it. I respect both. I guess I’m trying to define where I sit.
Does success come from having a genuine passion and working damn hard for it… or is it just a matter of right time, right place? Probably a hybrid of both I’d say. I just pray that I’m gonna find myself in the right place at the right time with the right people saying the right things with an undeniable passion and love behind it. And I hope that you do too – what’s the point in living and apathetic, average life?
Rant over. In this look I am wearing Zara knit sweater (similar here), Staple the Label jacket (similar here), Somedays Lovin’ shorts and Spurr booties. I’ve put this look together because it’s autumn and autumn is transeasonal and I’ll get my legs out if I want to. Which I do.
I hope you all have an AMAZING Christmas! I definitely did, my sister and I cooked up a huge feast for our family for lunch. After we ate oversized portions, we opened presents and then everyone kind of just fell asleep all over the house. Talk about a perfect Christmas day haha! Today I’ll be watching the Hobbit with my family – I am so excited you do not even know.
In this look, I feel it’s perfect for a Sydney summer… as you all know I have a fondness to cute crops & high rise shorts. What’s new. However, these pieces are so cute as the crop has lace and a gorgeous sweetheart neck detail and the shorts are lilac purple organza and the colours shimmy in the sun.
Crop top from Paint it Red, shorts from Staple the Label, sunnies from MinkPink, clutch from Hello Parry and shoes from Windsor Smith.
I’d rather be at Woodstock. I’d rather be on vacation. I’d rather be at the beach. I’d rather be on an adventure. Whinge whinge whinge. #firstworldproblems. What I’d give to be at a really high altitude, climbing through a forest, one foot in front of the other and smelling the fresh air. But no, I’m here in a small room with a fan and scrolling though tumblr, dreaming. My silver lining is that soon enough I can walk through a shopping mall and there will be shiny baubles on fake green trees with Mariah and Bubleon repeat signifying only one thing – a few days off between Christmas & New year. HALLELUJAH. In saying that I really don’t go to shopping malls anymore. Online shopping all the way. So maybe I am robbing myself of this feeling? *insert sad face*
Ok, enough about being a whinging sad sack. I put on this festival style outfit in spirits of the festival season fast approaching. I’ve teamed my blue One Teaspoon Hawks with this cute MINKPINK muscle tee & sunnies, leather fossil backpack & leather Dolce Vita booties. Rocking Earthy tones & smiles. xx
If you know me you know I’m a huge adidas girl – I’m just gonna go ahead and say that it’s totally A-okay to rock a sporty style tee back with your psychedelic OTT colourful shorties, puffer spike sandals & denim jacket. Where is my inspiration from? I really don’t know.
Rocking Adidas Originals tee from Asos, shorts & sunnies from MINKPINK, denim Jacket by Talula from Aritzia, small playa watch from Nixon, sandals by Jeffrey Campbell from Nasty Gal.
This week has been kind of mental, the upside is that the weather’s warming up, the downside is that I have no time to sit in it, do nothing & just tune out. Nonetheless – such is life & it’s always better with strawberries.
I’m wearing Pull & Bear muscle tee I bought in Cancun, Mexico – an amazing holiday I had earlier this year, O’neill shorts which I love because I am obsessed with palm trees & Victoria’s Secret pink tie dye bralette I picked up from the states. I wish I bought more.
This is a post I’ve had since pre-spring and havn’t gotten around to posting! I love Vans and I got this tee from the Vans outlet store in San Diego for around $10… it’s actually a little boy’s tee so I just cut off the sleeves so I could get my arms through & matched it back with my foil printed MINKPINK jeans which I picked up from their warehouse sale for $10 as well… come to think of it this was a very cheap outfit haha. That’s until you add the accessories; MiuMiu top handle, small playa watch from Nixon, beanie I borrowed from a friend, Mimco chain bracelet, Tiffany & Co heart ring, MINKPINK sunnies & shoes from Urge.
What a knock out show!! To be honest I wasn’t expecting too much as I was at the GP show a few nights before and didn’t think much of it. However, MarketHQ fashion show was a nice surprise.
The show was great – they started with suffocating the whole room with graffiti live art spray painting the backdrop of ‘MarketHQ’ on clear perspex. After this, they they opened the show with 5 of Australia’s top bloggers, Steph Kramer from Watermelon Crush, Rochelle Fox, Morgan Joanel, Chloe Ting and Emma from Spin Dizzy Fall. What an inspiration! I guess this whole blogger-catwalk thing started with Gary Pepper – so thanks, girl!
MarketHQ’s trends were strong, wearable, understandable and easy to digest as well as having their take on styling that some other retailers probably couldn’t pull off.
In the middle they had this little dance routine to Rob Thick’s Blurred Lines – I added the video I look with my iphone, let me know what you think – I loved it – Just what GP didn’t have… backflips.
Sorry about the dodgey pics but I just used my iphone. (All the good ones aren’t mine)
I was wearing Mini Palms Flare Dress I designed for 1&20 Blackbirds, Zara leather jacket & sunnies, Wittner leather booties and Atmos&here duffle bag.
Don’t be deceived, this is probably the closest I got to nature today… or any day during the week as I live in a very concrete neighbourhood… but I’m not complaining. I love the fact that almost on every corner there’s a trendy Surry Hills cafe for me to have trendy coffee dates cause I’m sooo trendy (not for realz) I recommend this place though Cook & Archie’s cafe. I live life on coffee and even as I write this I’m sitting with a coffee. coffee coffee coffee.
