Be brave and free: easier said than done. When was the last time you did something brave? In June 2016 I quit my job and started working for myself, no experience running a business, no idea if I’ll actually make a steady income, no real reason to leave an amazing job designing apart from the fact that I needed to be free. Not everyone is wired to work for themselves. It takes a lot of self-motivation every. single. damn. day. doing something that’s not assigned to you, no deadline, no assistant, nothing but hustle.
I was scared but mostly excited at the thought of not answering to anybody but myself, waking up when I want to, pacing my life how I want to, travelling the world whenever I want to, and now that I do I wouldn’t know how to live life any other way. I attribute this to being brave, not just jumping out of the plane and hoping for the best but by planning, budgeting, working smart, being a good person, and being organised and meticulous.
I’m not telling you to quit your job, but I am telling you you need to be brave and free. Maybe it’s leaving a toxic relationship, moving out of your parent’s house, traveling solo to a new country, asking out that guy or girl, jumping off a cliff into open water while screaming all the way down, committing yourself to a marathon for charity – whatever it is, I promise you if it’s scares you, and it won’t kill you, it will make you a stronger, free-er person.
