Green bikinis are one of those things this season that everyone is jumping onto. Well when I say green it’s more olive or khaki, a natural green. I love this colour because as we go into the middle of the summer season your tan is a little deeper and the khaki colour will really compliment your skin tone. I naturally have an olive undertone in my tan but I believe no matter what tone your skin is it can pull off this gorgeous bikini colour.
Going into December I’m going to be rolling out some fun videos for you including Christmas gift ideas and even fun things to spoil yourself with (haha because let’s be honest we all kind of do!) Like this cute bag I picked up in Bali, surprisingly it fits alot and I’ve gotten so many comments on it while away and on my instagram so I wanted to share with you all where to pick one up for summer as it’s perfect for the beach!
Just checking in! hope you’re all well and loving life. Thought I’d share these unpublished photos Wes and I took while we were on the Central coast. I love this little series because the beach was almost completely empty and I was actually struggling with catching any light (it was about 6pm) and the wind was gale force. But despite this we still managed to do what we love and do best which is capture photos and enjoy the beach.
Hope you’re all having the best weekend and are ready to wrap up the year!!
So happy I got to shoot with the gorgeous Tori and Karina on Echo Beach in Bali, Indonesia. Was such a fun shoot and great way to document our time in Bali and capture how we don’t ever really take anything too seriously and we’re just out to have a lot of fun, see beautiful places and meet wonderful people. We’re already planning our trip back!
I’m just gonna put it out there… I’m a bit bikini obsessed. I love a good quality bikini and that includes the perfect little black one piece bikini that should be staple in everyone’s beach wardrobe. I’m going to talk you through your options and what’s best for your bust shape.
Smaller chest: Your traditionally trained stylist with tell you to go for something with ruffles or bows or something that has embellishment on the chest to accentuate your bust. To me that’s fine, but personally I am a much more minimal bikini wearer and I don’t ever wear bows or frills on anything. I would embrace not having a ridiculous amount of cleavage and opt for a super low cut bikini like this one which has padding in it. The beauty of not having out there cleavage means you can get away with this style without looking slutty. Another alternative is a style with a alot of panel detailing on the bust. Super fashion forward.
Bigger Chest: I’d say I fall into this category (being a DD) and although I love the high neck style it actually doesn’t make your chest look smaller or flatter your bust, but in fact tends to make it look bigger with more of a monoboob vibe. Unless that’s the look you’re going for then I’d suggest a low cut style, but not too low cut (because from experience your boobs fall right out!). I love backless styles and if you don’t feel like you need the ‘support’ then give this style a go but there are also plenty of one-piece styles that have the in-built bra with a much more conservative back.
Somewhere in between: You’re the babes that can get away with any of the above. Try a balconette style or one of these sexy front zip bikinis which you can adjust to whatever mood you’re in <insert winky face>
One of the big trends I’m seeing this upcoming summer season is the Active Swim Trend. Basically this means you can actually go swimming in the bikini and not just dive under a wave and emerge from said wave clutching your boobs because your straps have untied (true story). It means you can do a class of hot yoga or yoga on the beach then cool off with a swim. It means you can pair one of those cute tops in the slider below with your favourite leggings or shorts and hit the gym. Do you now see how these are both practical and cute?
Luckily for me I spent the weekend at The Sydney Harbour Marriott and they have a gorgeous indoor swimming pool – perfect for a winter swim, the water was sooo warm and it was completely empty! I also felt it neccesary to add a layer of my new Bondi Sands Liquid Gold tanner. The formula doesn’t feel as ‘heavy’ or ‘sticky’ as their foam or lotion but it’s not as moisturising and needs to be applied more liberally, but the results are gorgeous and even once you’ve got the application down pat. Hot Tip: Use a tanning mitt!!!
Undefinably I’m easily obsessed with bikinis and this one is right up there. It’s so unique because it’s very different to your nylon, neoprene and crochet bikini. It’s knitted and basically the Herve Leger of bikinis. It’s that type of bodycon knit you used to wear.
I had to top up my winter skin with this new Bondi Sands liquid told tanner which seems to be a faster drying formula to their other mouses and lotions I’ve tried. So far so good but the colour doesn’t seem to be as deep as the other two. Perhaps with another layer or just being more generous I could have achieved that effect.
Let me know if you’d like me to do a sunless tan review on YouTube of all the brands I’ve tried to help guide you to the best choice for you!
After I posted this bikini photo on my instagram earlier this year, I saw the reaction it got and I immediately knew that crochet bikinis were and are still a big thing. The ones I am wearing here are actually a custom size made to fit my measurements (ahh-mazing!) as my size isn’t particularly commercial. So if you’re a little bit bigger, or smaller, or completely normal then check out Lost Culture. There’s no way you can’t find a bikini that wouldn’t suit you!
Below are some other crochet bikini options which I also recommend.
Are you going to be adding crochet bikinis to your ‘summer must haves’ list?
As a born and raised Sydney girl I thought I’d take you to one of Sydney’s most popular destinations in Bondi that isn’t Icebergs. Where else other than North Bondi would be more fitting to shoot a Camilla bikini? Her flagship store is just a stone throw away up the road so I had to pay homage. Okay, yeah… so north Bondi’s pool is a little dingy-er than south Bondi’s cleaned one a week, white floored pool but it has more to do, more to explore, more character, more characters (locals) whereas the tourists will generally be in the middle to the south.
So if ever you’re visiting Bondi, come visit the north end, take a walk/ swim around the corner of the pool onto the rocks, walk up to the edge of the cliffs for the view, there’s more culture and the cafes are better – check out Porch and Parlour, Bondi Wholefoods, Harry’s or Shuk if you want a killer meal or coffee.
Colour blocking is a really fun and amazing way to get attention at the beach with your bikini. The colours POP and the white on this bikini next to your skin really helps you look more tanned than you might be. As I’ve mentioned before that looking tan is an instant slimming technique.
The straps and shape of this bikini is perfect for someone a little bustier, and even if you’re not the contouring straps will help elevate the curves so really this bikini is great for either haha and these bottoms are great if you’re not keen on being super skimpy.
